less than a minute readOct 29Lyle Weischwill

If your snowblower chute doesn’t turn when you move the joystick, the chute control rod may be out of alignment. This simple adjustment can restore smooth chute movement and help direct snow exactly where you need it.

This video shows how to adjust a snowblower chute control rod step by step. You’ll see how to align the control rod, reconnect the pin, and ensure the chute responds properly to joystick movement.

If the chute control rod doesn't turn the chute when operating the joystick, check to see if it is properly engaging the chute control assembly under the dash.

The rod can be pushed further into the drive by removing the hair pin clip. Holding the rod into the chute gear box, the D portion at the rear of the rod must line up with the D portion of the of the chute control box for it to be inserted fully into the control box.

Slide the rod into the control box and line up the hole at the front of the rod with one of the holds in the chute gear box. You may need to rotate the control rod to line up the holes.

Reinsert the hair pin clip through the hole and the chute control rod.
