Safety tips to follow when using your Tradesman miter saw

  • Keep your work area clean and uncluttered to prevent accidents. Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see the miter saw blade and work piece when making cuts.
  • Don't operate the miter saw around flammable liquids, gasses or dust. The miter saw produces sparks, which can ignite dust, liquids or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away from the work area when cutting work pieces. Flying debris can cause injury to children or bystanders and distractions can cause you to lose control of the saw.
  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands and eye protection to prevent eye injury when operating the miter saw.

General maintenance tips for your Tradesman miter saw

  • Avoid using solvents and harsh chemicals when cleaning plastic parts on your miter saw. Most plastic parts are susceptible to damage from various types of solvents and chemicals and may be damaged by their use.
  • Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil and grease from the miter saw after each use. To remove tough stains, use a cloth moistened with soapy water then wipe the area down with a cloth moistened with plain water. Dry the area with a clean cloth.
  • Inspect all parts of the saw regularly. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any worn or broken parts.
  • Only use identical replacement parts to ensure the safety and reliability of the saw.
