Maintenance tips for your Sanyo compact refrigerator

  • Unplug the power cord to disconnect electrical power before performing maintenance on the refrigerator.
  • Safely store food that may spoil as you perform maintenance on the refrigerator.
  • Prepare a cleaning solution of baking soda and warm water. Use a sponge or soft cloth dampened with the cleaning solution to wipe down the entire refrigerator.
  • Clean the door gasket thoroughly and apply petroleum jelly to the gasket to keep it pliable and ensure a good seal.
  • Clean dust off vent grills and condenser coils.
  • Perform maintenance on the refrigerator every 3 to 4 months.

Troubleshooting your Sanyo compact refrigerator when it won't run at all

Check the control setting. Make sure the refrigerator is turned on.

Check the electrical outlet that you have the refrigerator plugged into. Make sure the electrical outlet has power. If the electrical outlet is dead, reset the house circuit breaker for the outlet. If the electrical outlet is still dead after resetting the house circuit breaker, have an electrician repair the electrical outlet.

Examine the power cord for damage. Replace the power cord if it's frayed or broken.

If the power cord is okay, you may need to replace the cold control thermostat or the compressor start relay to fix the refrigerator.
