Reviews

Very hard to find installation videos or drawings
September 07, 2019

Sears Parts Direct sent me a video on installing the shaft that was for a refrigerator by GE for Kenmore that was no help, since my refrigerator was made by Whirlpool for Kenmore. I would recommend ordering only parts for the model number printed on the refrigerator label and looking over all the freezer door for a different cover to get to the shaft than in any video. I found the motor and shaft can be removed only through a plastic plate screwed on the bottom of the wide part of the back of the freezer door above the first rack on the freezer door. They cannot be accessed by taking the dispenser cover off the front of the door, as a video I found shows, or how the GE video shows removing the cube feeding mechanism that is inside the freezer near the back, at the cube making mechanism.

The plate with two screws to access and pull down the cube auger motor and its shaft
