Pre-filter 697015 is a foam filter that attaches around the outside of the primary air filter for the engine.
Let the engine cool and disconnect the spark plug wires before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Useless ! Totally useless !!
Sending the worng part not designed for the air filter while the Telephone CSR asured me it was . You get what you deserve when you isten to some one from half way around the would who doesn't care at all . Shame on sears yet again !

It's a Pre-Filter! Anyone can do this.
I tune up my Sears lawn tractor every year: plug, gas filter, oil filter, air filter and the pre-filter. Out side of the spark plug and the oil, everything else comes from Sears. Everything on the tune up list is easy to install. The easiest of them all is the pre-filter. Once the tractor is tuned, I order next year's parts. Sears tractor, Sears parts list and parts on line, game, match, set!
