Dryer Idler Pulley (replaces 691366, W10612905) WP691366

The exact part I needed!! Worked great, I had purchased this part from another company and was sent the wrong part even tho I provided the model number for the dryer!

The idler pulley failed after which the belt jumped the track and motor pulley broke the drum belt. A relatively easy problem to fix. See You Tube helper videos.

I replaced both the broken belt and idler pulley together. The whole job took about 20 minutes or so.

Original idler was just a curved piece of sheet metal. An actual rotating wheel is a great upgrade that should extend belt life an provide quieter operation.

The idler pulley has a full wheel, which is an upgrade from the original which was a metal sliding surface. Also bought rear roller wheels and a drum belt for my Whirlpool gas dryer. All fit perfectly and easy to install.

From looking up the parts to ordering and receiving them the process was smooth and easy. Pricing was very fair and the dryer sounds like a new one.

I found the worn out pulley when replacing a broken belt on my older electric dryer. The original pulley assembly had a belt guide rather than a pulley and the belt contact guide area had worn out allowing the belt to rub on bare metal which increased friction and wear. The new replacement belt tensioner uses an actual pulley for rotational smoothness and eliminating belt friction. The simple design easily installs in its position without tools. The belt is routed around the pulley when the spring loaded pulley arm is compressed. Very easy install !
