Troubleshooting problems with Peerless lawn tractor transaxles

Your garden tractor is a complex piece of machinery with a lot of small moving parts that can become worn down or damaged from regular use. When the transaxle slips or doesn’t drive the wheels at all, you may need to replace parts.

• The transaxle typically has a transport rod that you can pull so the rear wheels free wheel and you can push the lawn tractor with no transaxle resistance. When your lawn tractor won’t move at all, check the transport rod to see if it’s in the freewheeling position. Disengage the freewheel setting so the transaxle will drive the wheels.
• Air can build up in the transaxle case and prevent the tractor from moving. Follow the instructions in your owner’s manual to purge air from the transaxle.
• The lawn tractor won’t move if the ground drive belt doesn’t spin the transaxle drive pulley. Check the ground drive belt for excessive wear and replace the ground drive belt if it’s broken or damaged.
• If the above tips don’t help, then you likely have an internal gear or linkage failure in the transaxle. Find and replace the broken gear or linkage to fix this type of problem.

Repairing Peerless faucets

Peerless offers faucets for your bathroom sink that can start leaking if the seat washer gets cracked. If that happens, you can replace it by first removing the decorative top from the handle and loosening the handle screw. Remove the handle and loosen and remove the stem so that you can get to the washer. Replace the washer and coat it in plumber's grease before putting the faucet back together.
