EveryDrop 1 water filter (part number EDR1RXD1) fits select Whirlpool, Amana, Ikea, JennAir, Kenmore, KitchenAid and Maytag top-freezer, side-by-side and French door refrigerators.

Water filter EDR1RXD1 replaces earlier part numbers 9900, 9981, FILTER1, W10217316, W10291030, W10295370, W10295370A, W10569758, W10569760, W10569761 and W10735398.

The EveryDrop1 water filter has NSF certifications 42, 53 and 401; it reduces lead and other metals; chlorine taste and odor; volatile organic compounds (VOCs); and some pesticides and pharmaceuticals.

Replace the filter every 6 months, or more often if water flow slows noticeably.

Follow the step-by-step instructions in this video to change the EveryDrop 1 water filter in your refrigerator.

First, locate the water filter cover in the upper right corner of the refrigerator interior.

Open the filter cover door by gently lifting it up.

As the door opens, the filter will be released and eject slightly from the housing.

Once the door is completely open, pull the filter straight out and discard it.

Remove the new filter from the packaging and take out the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure to check that the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.

Hold the filter so that the arrow on the label on the end of the filter cartridge is facing up.

Align the filter with the opening and gently push the new filter into the hole.

As you insert the filter, the cover door will begin to close.

Do not force the filter into the housing. If it does not slide in easily, rotate the filter so that the notches are properly aligned with the grooves in the filter housing.

To secure the filter within the housing, push firmly on the filter cover door until it snaps closed.

The final step of the filter change will be to run 3 gallons of water through the line to properly flush the new filter. This helps to purge any air from the water system.

Next time you order your EveryDrop 1 replacement filter, choose the 6-month subscription plan to automatically buy a new filter (with free shipping) every time you need to replace the filter.
