Part Information

This manufacturer-approved 1/4-horsepower condenser fan motor (part number K1860) for a heat pump is attaches to the grill on top of the condensing unit. The fan blade mounted onto the motor shaft pulls air through the condenser and pushes it out and away from the unit.

The condenser fan motor can also be installed on an outside central air conditioner unit.

If you do the work yourself, start by taking all the panels off the washer cabinet. Accessing the motor through the bottom of the washer is also possible but difficult. Begin the disassembly by releasing the console by pushing down the locking springs under each end cap, flipping the console up and undoing the clips that hold the console's rear panel to the washer frame. Disconnect the lid switch harness and pull the top panel forward and off the frame. Once you can reach the motor, pull off the pump and lock it to the side. Remove the 2 clips that hold the motor onto its mount, lift out the motor and take the coupler off the back of the motor. After installing the new motor, reinstall the existing coupler and pump if both are undamaged and if the pump has not been leaking. Apply grease to the pump shaft before putting the pump on it.
