Replacement part no longer available!
The original replacement cap has been discontinued. I was happy that an alternative replacement cap was found, but was not too happy with the price difference from $ 6.00 for the original cap to $ 18.00 for the alternative cap. I received the alternative cap quickly but was surprised that it will require some machining to install. I most likely would have ordered the replacement cap knowing that I would need to machine out the center of the cap, but that information should have been divulged. It looks like the alternative replacement part will work, but I need to head to the hardware store to buy a drill bit to remove material from the center of the cap to allow the spool to fit through the cap.

Perfect Craftsman replacement parts.
Perfect replacement part for my Craftsman Weed-Eater. I was surprised to find the correct part for the weed-eater I have. Thanks to the photos that showed the inner part of the spool cap and the serial numbers. This was what I needed and it fit just right.

Perfect fit
I was looking for this cover on other sites as well and noone would have a picture of the inside of this cover. This was very important to me because the outer size and diameter is standard and matches other trimmers, but this little circle on the inside of the cover is the main difference between the covers of different brands. Thank you Sears for taking a proper picture.
