Bowl height adjustment screw

The bowl height adjustment screw allows you to adjust the height of the mixing bowl to prevent the beaters from hitting the bowl during mixing.

Carbon motor brush

The spring-loaded motor brushes in a stand mixer fasten to the rotating armature, transferring power to the armature.

Control board

The speed control board controls the motor speeds along with the phase control board, and in turn, controls the amount of power supplied to the motor.

Food grade lubricating grease

Food grade lubricating grease lubricates and cools the mixer's internal gears to prevent overheating and wear. This non-toxic grease isn’t harmful if small amounts leak past seals and into the food that you're mixing.

Governor assembly

The governor, which is attached to end of the motor shaft, detects variances in motor speed. Along with the control board, it prevents the motor from slowing down under heavy loads to maintain a constant speed.

Phase control board

The phase control board determines the amount of power the motor gets, depending upon the condition of the control board.

Planetary gear

The planetary gear is a stationary ring gear located inside the lower gearcase. The worm gear assembly rotates within the planetary gear.

Rubber feet

The rubber feet stabilize the stand mixer and protect the work surface.

Speed control plate

The speed control plate works with the switch lever, governor and phase control board to control mixer speed. The switch lever positions the speed control plate at the proper distance from the governor to attain the desired speed. The phase control board gets signals from the governor and uses those signals to apply the correct amount of voltage to the motor to maintain the set speed.

Worm Gear

The worm gear acts a fail-safe component to protect the motor and other gears as it drives the attachments. The worm gear rotates on the inside of the stationary planetary gear, which spins the beaters.
