How to Replace a Laundry Center Washer Drain Pump

file

This DIY repair guide explains how to replace the washer drain pump in a laundry center. When working correctly, the drain pump removes water from the washer at the end of the wash and rinse cycles. If the washer doesn't drain, first check the washer drain for a clog and the drain hose for a kink. If the drain path is clear, replace the drain pump with the manufacturer-approved replacement part.

Use these basic repair steps to replace the drain pump in Kenmore, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, GE, Gibson, White-Westinghouse and Crosley laundry centers.
