Limited National Availibility
This product is extremely hard to get from Sears. So I suggest ordering one to have on hand or the ability to wait 6-8 weeks. It never breaks when it's convenient.

Easy except for recoil spring
The pull string had broken through the plastic reel so I needed a new one. Everything came in and was pretty straight forward to repair. When I took the old starter assembly out, the recoil spring popped out and came completely uncoiled. Thankfully, the kit included a new recoil spring that is ready to install. The tricky part is placing the recoil spring down and ensuring it does not uncoil as you are putting into place. Make sure you align it in the housing properly or it could uncoil. I used a needle nose plyers to attach the anchor while laying it as flat in the housing as I could and pushed the anchor down snuggly keeping my fingers over the coil to make sure it didn't spring up. As I removed the plastic guard, I could feel the recoil spring try to spin, so I let it unwind in the housing very slowly again so it wouldn't spring out. Once the spring was in place, the rest of the replacement went quickly. I attached the string on the new assembly and put it in place over the recoil spring and made sure it was flat by spinning it a little back a forth until I felt it catch the spring. I wound the assembly about 6 times to give it enough tension and pushed the string through the hole and attached the string to the handle. When I let go, it recoiled nicely into place and now the chainsaw works great.

Simple
It was fairly simple it was pulled all the way out from under the screw holding the rope in but was able to reinstall the new one with no problem.
