Although implied that they were in stock, these gaskets were backordered and took several weeks to arrive. Once carefully unboxed and laid out on a flat surface, they took several days of periodic coaching with a hair dryer to get all the wrinkles out. Thanks to some kind soul who had posted a video on YouTube, swapping out the gaskets took less than five minutes per door. The doors were left in place during this change out. The change involved simply pulling the old gasket free of the door (they’re simply pressed into a channel behind the gasket), tossing each into the trash and then pressing a new gasket into place with the thumbs of both hands. Once in place, a flashlight helped to check that the magnetic portion of the gasket was sticking to the metal edge of the frig. Gently warming and reshaping the gasket in any areas showing a gap. Done! Although these gaskets aren’t exactly inexpensive, the long-term savings in the cost of operation might just help pay for them.
