Perfect replacement

I was looking at a less expensive part that was just the ice side of the Assembly. There was some question about three wire or six wire. And it was going to be more involved in changing it, and I might not get the correct part. Then I found the complete assembly. The only difference was your part had a yellow plug and my was white. I would be hard pressed to say it took me two minutes to change!! So if your ice maker fails get it from sears parts direct. It will cost about $70 more the Amazon, but you get so much more.

Wrong part 2 times in a row! NO Follow Up

My ice machine stopped working due to a broken piece of plastic. No problem. I will order the Kenmore Elite refrigerator part from Sears Parts Direct that way I am guaranteed to get the correct part, right? Nope. I took a photo of the defective ice maker's part number, then found the part on Sears Parts Direct. WOW $200.00 for the ice maker, that is expensive, but Sears Parts Direct will have my back if it fails or something happens while the part is intransit. Competitors had the same part for half, but I trusted Sears Parts Direct. Mistake. Sears Parts Direct subs out the part with a similar part, that does not fit in my refrigerator. I call Sears Parts Direct and explain the situation to a nice customer representative who apologized for the error and stated she would make sure I get the correct part. Next week the same wrong part arrives. I call back to Sears Parts Direct and get a unsympathetic representative who states the research department will have to get back to me. I have not heard from them yet and that has been a month. I need ice to calm my cocktail loving girlfriend. So I spent 2 hours and fixed the old ice maker out of a need for peace in the house. Sears Parts Direct is not worth the cost with this kind of customer service. It is anyone's guess on whether you will get the correct part. They have the correct parts listed on their website, but you may not get what you actually need. I called back in and the Sears Parts Direct representative tried to up sell me on getting a water filter. Sears Parts Direct should not upsell when the customer has not heard back from you service department and you just sent him the same wrong part twice. I should be getting water filters for free as a courtesy!
