I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I think that this part could be made to last longer. I've had to replace this same part in the same location of the dryer twice--every 3.5 years. The issue seems to be that the bushing (see picture) is made of very soft metal that degrades over time and eventually wears so big that the shaft begins to wobble. Perhaps a soft metal is used for automatic lubrication? I'm not sure, but I would pay more for a single part to avoid having to open up the washer ever few years. It takes about an hour to open it up and close it and I had to do this twice (first for diagnosis, second to replace the part).
