Part Information

This door latch hook (part number 4026W2A015A) is for microwaves.

Door latch hook 4026W2A015A locks the door latch in place when the door is closed, and houses the door switch.

Because high-voltage capacitors in a microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged, a service technician should install this part.

Easy to install.

Five minutes to install. Just pull the trim ring out hook spring on latch and hook to metal spring post. Push up and slide in the groves. Re install the trim ring and done.

Little Tricky to Replace

The latch hook I received was a perfect fit. The bottom arm of my latch hook broke off. The black plastic interior door trim has to be removed. Start prying it at the hinge end of the door. Work your way around to the handle end and then it comes off. The latch is held in place by a spring and the slots in the door to which the latch has to be fitted. To replace the latch I found it to be much easier to first attach the spring to the latch and the door and then position the latch to match up with the slots in the door.
