Break and replace the clip.
Installation was fairly straight forward. There was, however, a circular clip I had to break in order to remove the old deflector shield. The clip is now a C clip as it should have been to begin with.

difficult to install
the deflector works fine and is like the original except a tiny bit shorter. My original broke where the plastic holes guide the metal pivot rod. The rod is difficult to get off due to the fastener at the end. That fastener is also not meant to be reused, but I did so with some effort.

No instructions sent with product!
After 3 weeks of waiting I called to check on the status, the representative said my product was in a warehouse just sitting there. Two days later I received my item. What a coincidence!! Instructions would've been helpful. Thank God for google! They showed me little tips to make my installation really easy.
