Repair is straightforward. My stove has a ground wire but I did not need to connect it to my replacement part because the replacement part appears to be redesigned to work without grounding - the instructions also elude to it. After connecting the replacement module up, the stove now lights the gas Much Faster. The burner lights up instantaneously and very strong. It occurs to me that this part wears down over time to the point where it struggles to light the burners and because that happens over a long period of time, you just don't notice that occurring. But once you replace the part, the strength and speed at which it lights the burner is amazing. I replaced this part after 19 years. I'd say, even if yours is working, consider replacing it if your part is older than 15 years - it's worth it.
