Emitter control board W10870822 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some refrigerators in these series: Kenmore 106 and 596; Whirlpool BRS, GI7, GSC, GSF, GSS, WRF, WRS, WRV, WRX, WSF, 7GSC, 7WF, 7WS, 5WSC and 6WSC; KitchenAid KF, KR, KS and 7KSC; Maytag MFT, MFX, MSB and 7MF; Ikea ISC, IX7 and 6ISC; and Jenn-Air JFX and JSC.
Emitter control board W10870822 works with the receiver board to detect the level of ice in the ice bin, and shuts the ice maker off once the ice bin is full.
This emitter control board fits ice dispenser systems in some side-by-side and bottom-freezer refrigerators.
Replaces original refrigerator emitter control board part numbers W1058659, WPW10518659 and W10180607.

Install emitter and receiver control boards.
Hired appliance repairman to diagnose problem - was told emitter and receiver control boards needed replaced. Install was very simple. Unfortunately this was not problem. Removed boards after two days - and then found out parts which were opened and installed could not be returned - apparently being able to return parts for 365 days does not extend to parts tried but not needed?
