It was easy to install, unfortunately the small crack was located in an area that was missing a screw, which 100% caused the crack. We had the extended warranty on the washer and a year or so before it expired the washer stopped working, so a Sears repair man came out and fixed it. When he did this he forgot to put the screw back in where the water comes into the inlet valve, causing the vibrations to cause this crack, which cost $130. The employee I spoke with on the phone was helpful and sent the right part out which fixed the problem, but not happy about the repairman leaving the screw out (actually had this screw on the laundry room tub for the last few years wondering where it came from, which I used with the new valve to lock it in place) which caused the issue.
