Easy to install.

The Sears video and part drawing was very helpful in determining if I was getting the right part.

No instructions...for setting temperature.

While I didn't need instructions to install the device, the Thermostat itself is variable, and needs to be set in order to avoid major issues ranging from poor performance or early failure to a fire... After scouring the internet I found the unit has a range of 135 to 155 degrees Fahrenheit. Setting A = 135, B = 140, C = 145, D = 150, and E = 155 degrees. I will gladly pay the extra 50 cents for a guide thank you. What should have been a half hour fix, turned into a 2 hour event. Hope this helps the next buyer.

Variable temp is very touchy

It is a variable temp control which means if you needed a 170 degree switch ya gotta play with it to get it close. Which means Dryer out, back off, move dial, reassemble test. Be a whole lot easier if the settings were in degrees on the dial, but they are not. Took me 6 times to get it near 120 and I wanted it higher but got fed up with the process.

If you’re not handy don’t attempt this

The dryer must be pulled out from the wall along with disconnecting the vent and the gas line. The back of the dryer must be removed, at that point it’s only two screws into wires to replace the part. Use the vacuum to clean everything out inside and outside the dryer and the floor And then put it all back together double check your connections turn on and test.
