Wall Oven Electronic Oven Control Overlay 318214401

Why is this a separate purchase? Should come automatically with the purchase of the control box

I tried to order an overlay AND an oven circuit control board. I was repeatedly told by the person on chat that I didn't need a control board and that the overlay accomplished both functions. It didn't. I've emailed but have had no response and will likely order from a different company.

I explained to the person on the phone several times that I wanted the black plastic housing that holds the control panel. I explained that the plastic was old and brittle and falling apart and is no longer able to be secured and has fallen inside the back of the oven. She then asked me which color I wanted and I asked why because I assumed they all came in black. She then mentioned the overlay. I said I didn’t need that, just the housing which is black but I told her the oven itself is white and it has a white overlay. She then said that they only come in black and bisque, that they no longer make white. So I said fine, I guess black. She made it sound as if the overlay was part of the whole part.

When the part arrived it was only the overlay. So now it needs returned. Prior to receiving the overlay, I took the part number to a local appliance parts store and had them look it up and that’s when I first learned that it wasn’t the correct part. So I went online, typed in the part number that was on the paperwork with the oven and ordered the correct part.
