NordicTrak 3200 drive motor replacement

Sears got me hooked up with a matching motor for my nordictrak that was probably 20 years old and not made anymore. The motor was very easy to install once I figured out a few tricks. Put on a replacement drive belt at the same time, and tightened and aligned the running track. Everything appears to be working just fine.

Returned

I bought this motor because the other would "rev" really high during a walk. When I received the motor (it came earlier than promised) it contained 2 pcs of paper, describing how to "program" the motor/control board. After reading and trying that it seemed the motor didn't rev often.

I then did more research and found that the problem could just be a work walking board or belt or possibly greasing. Discovering that the old motor is actually functioning I just returned the new one. It appeared that it would be an easy swap out but I didn't do it.

5 min install!

Great motor with extra HP. Makes our 13+ year old Treadmill like new again. Great savings with a DIY, ultra quiet motor!

Fairly easy to install

Took about half hour to install, directions didn’t quite match my model, but the motor fit perfectly.

Relatively easy to install

Although there was only a small number of screws to remove the housing that allows access to the motor, the time consuming part was accessing the two bolts to remove the old motor and then install the new motor. The bolts are located in a very difficult position behind/inside the motor mounting bracket making it hard to access with tools or even your hand. In the end, took a little longer than I thought but was a one person job. Treadmill works as good as the day we bought it 14 years ago.
