Nice retrofit to the old system.

This was a relatively easy retrofit kit to install, it adds a new small pedal on the right bottom corner that you push with your foot to activate the compactor instead of lifting the big foot pedal with your toe. There is a good instruction vid on YouTube on the installation process.

Quite a change, but works fine.

This compacter trigger mechanism is very different from the original. The original had a small metal tab on the footpedal that pressed against the "push to make" contact switch. The small metal tab had a habit of breaking which is why the new design. A new separate foot-pedal that requires some drilling and self-tapping screws(provided) to install and a new "push to break" type of contact switch. Be sure to unplug the unit when installing this 120V switch.

Replacement switch.

Parts shipped without any instructions. Another reviewer had suggested to google the part number to see video on a different website. Did that. Took me about 2 hours to complete the repair - including time on internet to see the repair video. Then, all was fine.

Best price anywhere!

Factory part that was genuine factory part and was the cheapest anywhere I could find. Shipping was a bit high but the overall price still beat all others. I'll continue to go with Sears parts in the future.

Very difficult installation

There were no instructions in the box and there was no video or instructions on the website for this kit. I am an avid DIY and an electrical engineer and it took a couple of hours to figure out the installation without any instructions. Works fine once installed.
