Part Information

This manufacturer-approved 1/3-horsepower direct-drive blower motor (part number K1861) installs in a furnace to circulate air.

The replacement blower motor can also be installed in air handlers.

Making the repair requires removing the lower service panel from the front of the washer cabinet and pulling the hoses from the pump. Be aware that some water always remains in the hoses and the outer tub. Take necessary measures to minimize spills and leaks while doing this work. To remove the existing motor and pulley assembly, unhook the idler spring while taking care not to overstretch it, remove the belt from the pulleys and disconnect the wires from the motor. While taking the belt off, make note of how it's routed around the pump, especially the rear pump leg and support studs. Then remove the bolts that secure the motor and mounting bracket to the tub and remove the screws securing the pump to the motor. Last, remove the locking nuts and washers that secure the motor to the mounting bracket. Reverse these procedures to install the new motor and pulley assembly.
