Whirlpool defrost timer fits models since 1963
The instructions are more meant for repair personnel rather than DIY and could be better written. The timer is meant to work in a lot of different models, so you have to attach a dangling wire to the correct terminal before installing. Figuring out where to attach the dangling wire requires looking at schematic diagrams and then deciding which one matches your fridge. Once you do that, the job only takes a few minutes.
