Media pad 6294 holds water absorbed from the reservoir. As the fan blows air across the media pad, cooled and moistened air circulates into the room.

Fairly easy to install
Plan to buy these pad every year. Have had the cooler since 1985. Was able to replace the pads every other year or so. The quality has dropped and now need to be replaced every year. (The mesh liner now shreds easily).
