New Freezer Gasket

The entire experience was professional and enjoyable. Finding the correct part on the website was easy. After ordering, I called support just to verify that the part I ordered was correct. The technician handling the call looked up my part number against the model number of the freezer I have (which is at least 2 or 3 decades old!!) and assured me that the part would fit and be easy to install. Upon arrival, it took less than an hour to remove the old gasket and install the new one. It is working like new and the freezer is now frost free. Many thanks to Sears Parts Direct.

Just took time.

Need to keep screws loose to adjust seal. Get it warm and lay out to eliminate creases that may occur.

Install was a challenge at times

The install took longer than I anticipated even after watching several U-tube videos. However, I was able to successfully get it installed. Note: It did take two shipments from sears parts to get the correct part.

Fteezer Replacement Door Gasket and Door Key

I received the door gasket shipment separate feom the bew door key that I ordered at the same time. I ordered the door gasket because I thought I had a leaking seal for the 8 inches above the door lock. Last fall frost build up became so bad that the door could not be closed. I unplud the freezer power cord over the winter. Spring temperatures warmed up and the unpowered freezer melted completely down. After a heavy Clorox wash down inside I repowered the unit and have started to reuse the freezer using the new key to lock tight the freezer door It appears to be a good squeeze for the last 2 weeks. I intend to install the new door gasket later this summer after a scheduled garage cleanout. The freezer is about 25 years old and I was pleased a replacement door gasket was still available as a service part.. Dick R. Michigan

freezer door gasket

Our freezer is over 30 years old. The door gasket was not sealing at the top of the door. Door removal is easy. removal of old gasket easy. look closely at the way gasket is held in place by the steel strips. Installation: examine the gasket closely. Be sure you place the steel strips in the right place in the gasket. Carefully tighten the screws to be sure gasket stays in place. The box it came in was larger than I anticipated which probably accounts for some of the high shipping cost.
