Part Information

This blade debris shield (part number 188305) is for lawn mowers.

Blade debris shield 188305 attaches above the blade to prevent debris from entering around the crankshaft pulley and drive belt.

Disconnect the spark plug wire before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

I wasn't sure it would fit because the pic was slightly different. Sears assured me it was a replacement part. The design is better than the original. You do have to re-drill the hole in the mower chassis because it's not quite big enough for the screw.

This debris shield was an upgrade from the original. Came with a bolt and nut that I had to remove the drive cover to install. Fortunately there was a pre-drilled hole...but I had to enlarge to fit the bolt. Once that was done everything went smoothly.

Although the part was back ordered it arrived 10 days before the expected date ... the part was for another manufacturer's mower but instructions were clear and install went well ...
