Whether you are a novice culinary dabbler or an experienced chef, Jade ranges offer cooktops that allow you to turn up the heat or master the art of the low simmer. Sometimes, a burner fails to spark or ignite properly. Get the Jade cooktop working at peak performance again by following some simple troubleshooting steps.
Begin the cooktop troubleshooting by checking the condition of the spark electrode. The spark electrode doesn't create a spark if it is damaged, bent or covered with a spilled substance. In the event of a spill, clean it up and allow the electrode to dry thoroughly; it should then work properly again. If the insulation cover leading to the electrode is damaged, however, it likely needs to be replaced.
The spark module is part of the ignition circuit for gas burners. It provides the voltage the electrode needs to spark when the knob is turned to the "Lite" position. If it's not providing the proper voltage, browse cooktop parts for a new spark module to replace the faulty one.
The spark igniter switch completes the circuit to the spark module when the burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position. If the burners don't spark when the control knob is turned on, or if they continue to spark even when the burner control knob is in the "Off" position, the igniter switch is likely faulty and needs to be replaced.
