Ford Riding Mower & Tractor Parts

View Models

Farmers, lawn care professionals and property owners have relied on Ford riding mower and tractor parts since the first Ford lawn tractor debuted in 1917. When properly maintained, Ford mowers and tractors stay in operation for generations. Try these troubleshooting tips before calling a technician when your equipment stops performing at peak levels.

Uneven, Side-Slanting Cutting Patterns

A cut that slants sideways like stair steps is usually not much cause for concern. The average homeowner can typically rectify the problem in a matter of minutes by ensuring that the mower deck sits evenly and that all four tires are equally inflated with the recommended amount of pressure. In most cases, you can solve the problem without replacing riding mower parts.

Uneven Patches After Mowing

Uneven streaks of grass generally mean that the blade of your Ford mower isn't working properly. Occasionally, simply sharpening the blade solves the problem, but blades should be replaced at least once a year with regular residential usage. A faulty mandrel assembly can cause similar uneven cutting patterns. An abnormal noise near the mower deck usually means the assembly should be replaced.

Mower Doesn't Cut at All

If your lawn tractor won't cut grass at all, the mower blades are probably not spinning correctly. Inspect the mandrel assembly, and listen for a noise from the mower deck. A failed mandrel pulley can stop the blades from turning. Sounds near the mower deck while the tractor is running may be a symptom of a faulty idler pulley. Examine the drive belt and the PTO lever, or contact an expert technician for lawn tractor repair help.
