A good oven is one of the most versatile tools in the home kitchen, and if it fails the daily menu is sure to suffer. Unfortunately, sometimes parts fail no matter how careful you are about following your oven's maintenance schedule. If your Barber wall oven has suddenly stopped working, here are several troubleshooting tips to help you identify and solve the problem.

Examine the Thermal Fuse

A thermal fuse is designed to shut down the oven in cases of overheating. Sometimes, running the cleaning cycle causes a thermal fuse to trip and the oven to shut down. If your problem appeared during a cleaning cycle, follow the instructions in your manual to reset the fuse. If the fuse trips during normal operation, you need to replace it with a quality wall oven repair part because it may have been damaged by extreme heat.

Test the Thermostat

The thermostat controls operation of the bake and broil elements inside the oven to maintain the desired cooking temperature. A faulty or inaccurate thermostat can cause overheating, which then causes the thermal fuse to trip and the oven to shut down. Oven heating may also become non-functional if the thermostat fails completely. To confirm that the thermostat is functioning properly, uninstall it and test it with a multimeter device.

Check the Wall Oven Control Board

The control board regulates cooking time and temperature, and it's one of the most important wall oven parts. Test the control board by running your oven through various commands. Make sure the oven responds promptly and correctly. If delays or inconsistencies appear, a new control board may be required.
