Question and Answers

Q:

GE Washer/Model WWSE5240G1WW

A:

The information provided in the link for a previous answer that Joseph P. posted in the above response should help you properly install the belt. It will be a tight fit. This is normal.

This is not an easy repair. If you are not able to install the belt using the information in that previous answer, then I recommend that you have a service technician install the belt. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

I you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

Q:

GE top load washer #WWSE5240G1WW: What does 4 blinks represent for error code? Washer is not spinning at all, but draining perfectly fine. Thanks for help.

A:

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I assume you are talking about a 4 flash error code on the motor inverter assembly. The 4 flash error indicates that the mode shifter (shaft and tube assembly) (part number WH38X10017) has failed. To make sure you will need to ohm the mode shifter. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Hi Gerald, I am happy to help you. The document I sent contains the disassembly instructions. Be sure to unplug your washer. Once you gain access to the motor locate the 2 pin connector with a red wire and a yellow wire (see image below). Disconnect this 2 pin connector and ohm those wires. Let me know what you get for a reading. Landell
