Question and Answers

Q:

how to replace gasket

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern however replacing the door gasket could be challenging. It will likely require special tools to remove the front and rear gasket clamps. The spring must be expanded in order to remove the clamps which can be difficult to do with out, but not impossible.

I added the instructions in the image below. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I install the rubber ring between the door and tub of a LG front load washer?

A:

The procedure for replacing this part is shown in the image below. This is not an easy repair. I recommend that you have a technician replace the bellows seal. A special tool (pliers part 383EER4001A) would make it much easier to remove and replace the spring clamp on the bellows. If you are going to replace the bellows yourself, I recommend that you order and use this tool even though it can only be used for this repair. It costs about $37 not including tax, shipping and handling. You can order it from the Sears PartsDirect website. If you are able to follow the procedure in the image below, you can attempt to replace the bellows yourself. If you run into problems, I recommend that you have a service technician complete the repair.
