Question and Answers

Q:

replace front seal on a wm1814cw washer wm1814cw

A:

Here is a link for a previous answer that shows how to replace that front seal: I need to replace the gasket on my LG washer #WM2455HW. The part number is #4986ER0004F. There are special tools required to replace this. The video in that previous answer shows some spring expansion pliers that make that repair much easier. You can complete that repair without those pliers but those spring clamps are difficult to install without the special tools.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician replace that front seal on the washer, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why won't the water pump out of my LG front load washer model WM1814CW? water will not pump out?

A:

According to your symptoms, it sounds like you need to replace the pump since the impeller will not stay on. You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

I provided the procedure for accessing and replacing the pump in the image below. Be sure that you unplug the washer and shut off the water supply before accessing internal components. You will normally need a special set of pliers (part 383EER4001A) to remove the spring clamp on the rubber door boot so that you can take off the front panel. Although you would likely only use this tool once, it may be worth it when removing and replacing the spring clamp on the door boot.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.

Accessing and replacing the pump in this washer is not an easy task. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

WM1814CW Front load washer that has uneven tub spin. Bearing replacement?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your details, you are correct. The drum bearing will need to be replaced and possibly the spin basket is still attached to the shaft at all points. You will also need to order the tub seal between the front and rear tubs.

All the parts listed above will need to be ordered with the exception of the Spider. The Spider is the shaft assembly that may or may not be damaged. If the shaft is damaged/scared, it may need to be replaced.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Anonymous: The tub cover is the front half of the tub. You can view and order parts at Searspartsdirect.com. It appears the tub cover is no longer available. If your tub cover is not too damaged, it should be okay. Copy and paste the URL below in your browser and it will take to Searspartsdirect.com with your model number already looked up. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/LG-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-WM1814CW/3204/0153200/K0810333/00002?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=WM1814CW
