Question and Answers

Q:

I have Whirlpool Duet Gas Dryer Model # WGD9400SW2 when its on it smell of gas or sewer and I had the gas company come out and they took the back of and I do no

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on you symptom and details the gas company did not find any gas leaks. Since the dryer is not connected to any drain pipes we can rule out sewer odors. Now, since it's a gas dryer and if you’re doing or having any type of flooring refinished or if you doing any painting or varnishing, the fumes of the chemicals will mix with the open flame of the burner and will cause a strange odor in the room especially if the vent hose has any leakage.

Once the paint or varnish has completely dried and cured, the dryer will not likely cause any more odors.
