Q:

Why won't my 2008 Kenmore Microwave heat food?

A:

You will need to have a service technician diagnose and fix the microwave if you choose to repair it. The microwave could have a blown fuse or problem with the control board. A failed magnetron or a number of other internal component problems could be preventing the microwave from heating. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal high voltage components can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding leakage test must be performed on the unit following any internal component access and repair. These are the reasons that a service technician is required for microwave diagnosis and repair. Based on the labor cost and the likelihood that parts will need to be replaced, you may consider replacing the microwave instead of having it repaired.

Q:

2008 Kenmore Washing Mashine gives code F35 even after resetting

A:

Thank you for your question.

The F35 indicates a water level pressure sensor failure. The SUD is normally displayed when there is excessive detergent suds in the tub. Make sure you are only using the recommended amount of HE detergent. Then run the washer without clothes on a drain and spin cycle. If the tub is empty and you do not see any suds please continue with the following trouble shooting tips. A loose wire harness connection could be causing this problem if there is no water or suds in the tub. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove the screws and then pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off of the washer. The analog water level pressure sensor is shown in the first image below. The second image shows a clear picture of this component. Check the wire harness connection on this sensor. If you find a loose connection, secure the wire harness properly on the component then reassemble and test the washer. If you continue to get the F35 code, then the pressure switch will need to be replaced.

You can order a new analog water level pressure sensor from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you need more help with this problem, reply with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore Elite HE washer.
