Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Kenmore elite gas dryer not heating the air?

A:

There could be one out of several possible component failures preventing your dryer from producing any heat:

  • Electronic control board
  • Thermal fuse
  • High limit thermostat
  • Flame sensor
  • Ignitor
  • Motor centrifugal switch (motor assembly)

In order to properly diagnose which component has failed will require a volt/ohm meter. The thermal fuse, high limit and ignitor can be tested for continuity using an Ohm meter. You would need to disconnect the two wires from the component before testing the component for continuity. Which ever component measured that has no continuity has likely failed and will need to be replaced. I added the instructions in the image below on how to remove the lower access panel and the location of the components. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the lower access panel

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.

Q:

I hve Sears Snow Blower Mod 536.886440 that need impeller spring pin. Part 454565 is wrong as it is 1/4 inch when 1/8 inch is needed. How do I get right part?

A:

To get the correct spring pin for the impeller on your snow thrower look on the page that says "frame assembly" but is really the gearbox and impeller. The spring pins are item 341. The part number is STD572512 and the cost is $2.16 for a package of 2 pins.

The part number 454565 should cross over to STD572512. I think someone picked up the wrong package when your order was filled. If you order the STD572512 you should get the right pins.
