Question and Answers

Q:

What is this number mean SM 9710802-A that is located on the inside of the washer lid?

A:

This number may be a manufacturer’s part number or it could be a serial/lot number. It does not correlate to a part number in our Sears Parts system.

I answered your previous question that was asking for an owner's manual for your washer. If you are still looking for a way to determine the model number for your washer, try finding a different part that has a number on it and we will try to cross reference the part to the models of washers that use it. This may help us provide a manual that will apply to your washer.

Resubmit your question with additional details and information. We will be glad to help your further.

Q:

My kenmore elite calypso washer is repeatedly giving the code CE (communication erroro) even after I clear it and restart

A:

I added an answer from a previous question in the link below. Generally speaking the "CE" is caused by a failed fuse on the motor control board. The fuse is not replaceable. You would have to replace the motor control board. This type of symptom will likely need to be diagnosed by a service technician.

What does the error code CE indicate on my Kenmore washer model 110.22062102?

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

kenmore ultrasoft 150 water softner,

A:

Carol,

The water softener should have about two inches of water in the bottom of the salt tank. If there is more than that in the salt tank, I recommend cleaning the nozzle venturi first. I posted an image below that shows how to clean the nozzle venturi. Then remove the cover of the brine well on the right side of the salt tank. You need to be sure the float assembly is pushed down to the bottom of the brine well. If it is not, the water will be higher than normal. After it is clean, it could take a few cycles for the water level to get back to normal.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
