Question and Answers

Q:

My treadmill, a LS Elite 780, will not turn on. The circuit breaker is ok (not tripped). Any ideas?

A:

The red leds on the board does indicate power is coming into the power supply and the motor controller. The power supply board sends 8-12 volts dc to the console to operate it.

Someone needs to test for this voltage on both red wires using the black wire for ground. If the voltage is at the plug coming out of the power board it is ok. If the voltage is going into the console, the console is bad. If there is voltage coming out of the power board but not reaching the console, there is a broken wire in the wire harness between the 2.

Q:

I recently asked a question about LS Elite 780 treadmill. Will post reply in detail section.

A:

LD4 lets you know the console is sending voltage to the power board. If it is not on, either the console is bad or the wire harness between the console and the power board has a broken wire.

You can guess and replace the console and have a 75% chance of being right. A less expensive guess would be to replace the wire harness, but that is a time consuming job.

I am sorry but the correct way to repair the treadmill is to make the voltage and continuity tests.

Q:

I have an LS Elite 780 treadmill and receive an E2 error code when I attempt to increase the speed. Can you tell me what this means?

A:

The E2 error code indicates the console is not receiving a signal from the speed sensor. If the motor is not turning the speed sensor won't send a signal to the controller.

If the motor is not starting, you might have a problem with the console, wire harness between the console and the power supply board, motor controller, or the motor.

If the motor starts then stops, you might have a problem with the speed sensor that mounts on the back of the motor, wire harness between power board and console, console, or power board.

Check all the connections on the boards and the console.

You will need to schedule service and get a technician to diagnose the problem with the treadmill.
