Q:

i have a kenmore ref mod #59292993 sk #3929840. I have the temp set at 3 and I am getting aa freeezing problem in the lowest draw? at

A:

The lowest drawer has an air vent from the freezer as shown in the air circulation diagram on page 9 of your owner's manual. Here is a link for your owner's manual in case you need it: Owner's Manual . Make sure that the other air vents are not blocked or restricted. The bottom drawer will be the coldest part of the refrigerator. If none of the other vents are blocked, try adjusting the freezer setting so that the freezer section is less cold. It should be around zero degrees. The temperature in the middle of the refrigerator should normally be about 37 degrees. To accurately measure freezer temperature, place an accurate thermometer between two packages of frozen food. To accurately measure refrigerator temperature, place a thermometer in a glass of water and put it in the back of a middle shelf. If you adjust the freezer and refrigerator settings to maintain 0 and 37 degrees, you may be able to resolve this freezing problem in your bottom drawer. Allow 24 to 48 hours after adjusting the settings for the temperatures to equalize.

If you still have freezing in the bottom drawer but all of the other temperatures are normal, you may want to cover the air vent for the bottom drawer or seal it with permagum (part 4318168 available from the Sears PartsDirect website).
