Q:

Gas line/hose 143986700 Craftsman Engine

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the engine. I will be happy to assist you. I looked up the engine model number you submitted. This model has one fuel line that runs between the fuel tank and the carburetor. The part number for that fuel line is 29774 and can be ordered from the following link. Replacement fuel line for Craftsman engine model number 143986700.

The engine also have a crankcase breath hose that connects between the back of the air filter base and the top of the engine. If you need this hose, it is part number 32447 and it can be ordered from the following link.

Q:

lawn mower won't start. craftsman eagle 1. model 917389611.

A:

Thank you for your question.

Usually when the mower starts and stalls, right away or does not start at all it has a dirty carburetor. First, make sure the fuel is no older than 5 weeks old. I would think the fuel is fresh this late in the mowing season. Next check the air filter. If the air filter is plugged the mower may not run. If the air filter is clean and the fuel is fresh, I recommend cleaning the carburetor.

To clean the carburetor you have to remove the spark plug wire and tip the mower on to its side. Make sure the oil fill tube is towards the ground. Then remove the float bowl nut on the bottom of the carburetor. Some fuel will leak out so do this in a well-ventilated area. Remove the float bowl, clean it with carburetor cleaner, and dry it. Do not get carburetor cleaner on the rubber gasket. The cleaner will expand the rubber and renders it useless. Next, put the straw on the spray nozzle of the carburetor cleaner. Spray the cleaner in to the holes where the float bowl nut came from. These are the fuel pick up tubes. Once those are flushed, clean the holes on the float bowl nut. I recommend cleaning the holes with bread tie wire and carburetor cleaner. Then assemble the carburetor.

Tip the mower back up right and test the operation. If the engine does the same starting and stalling, I recommend replacing the carburetor.

I had a customer send me a link to video he found that shows how to clean the carburetor. The engine is not exactly the same as yours but it will give you a general idea. Here is a link to that video

I hope this is helpful.

Q:

How to replace silver care in Samsung washer?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The silver care assembly is located under the top. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top.

There are no step by step instructions available but it should not be a major procedure.

To remove the top panel; remove the two screws along the back of the top panel. Slide the top back and then lift it off. The silver care assembly is located under the center brace that runs along the center of the top. The silvercare assembly is secured to the bottom of the center brace with a few screws, couple of wires and hoses. It should not be that difficult of a procedure to remove and replace the "SilverCare" assembly.

After replacing the assembly you must run an EEPROM clear mode to clear out the code.

To enter the clear mode:

The unit must be ON. Press the Delay Start Key and the Power Key at the same time.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician.  To have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
