Question and Answers

Q:

My front loading washer wont run and displays an error?

A:

That link for a previous answer that Alina F. posted in the above response should help you resolve this issue. That F DL code indicates that you have a problem with the door lock assembly. Your details indicate that you will probably need to replace that component. Unplug the washer and check the wiring connections as described in that previous answer first. If the wiring connections are okay, then I recommend that you replace that door lock assembly. The part number for the door lock assembly on your washer is 8182634. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Unplug the washer and follow the procedure in that link for a previous answer to access and replace that door lock assembly.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

My Whirlpool Due Washers pulley hub is stretched, the belt falls off or breaks, the stem is bent, whats wrong?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on the images and the details, the tub bearings are worn out and the tub will need to be replaced as well as the pulley and belt. It may or may not need a new spin basket depending if the shaft is scarred or not. The shaft connected to the spin basket is not likely bent, it may just appear that way. I have never seen or heard of the shaft to bend.

I strongly suggest calling a service technician to remove and replace the tub and possibly the basket. In order to get the spin basket under warranty, a Whirlpool or Sears technician will have to be called to do the repairs.
