Question and Answers

Q:

Oven not working but burners are RGB528EN1 Hotpoint Gas range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Before the oven will ignite, the electronic oven glow bar igniter must recieve a 120 volt power source when the oven thermostat is turned on. The glow bar igniter must glow red hot and it must pull enough current/amperage to open the oven safety gas valve. Once the igniter pulls enough current/amperage, the oven gas valve will open and the bake burner will then ignite from the red hot igniter.

If the bake igniter is not glowing when you turn the oven thermostat on, it could have a faulty oven thermostat, faulty oven igniter or a faulty oven gas valve.

I added an image below with some information about the oven operation.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
