Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't this part fit?

A:

I posted an image of the wiring diagram that I have for that range below this response. I see that the right front element on that range does substitute to a new part number (from 8053621 to new part 8523698). I do not have an image of the old element but I do have a picture of the new one. I posted it in the second image below. That new element has an internal jumper that may not have been on that original element. I circled that jumper in green on the wiring diagram and the picture of the element. If your original element had a jumper wire connecting those spades then that jumper wire is not needed on the new element. This information may help you if you face that situation.

If the connection spades are a different size on the new element they you should be able to find new female spade connectors at your local hardware or electrical supply store.

In some situations, the location of the spades may change but they will all be labeled. You can use the wiring diagram below as a guide in that scenario. The wires should be connected to the same number of spade even if that spade is in a different location on the element.

I hope that these tips help. If you have a different problem that is not covered above, reply with additional details and digital pictures if possible.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician replace that element, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
