Electric 39" slide in range, Can't set clock.

This appears to be a duplicate question. I answered the previous question regarding this range. Here is a link for that previous answer: Electric Range

There is a chance that a power surge through the electrical lines during that power outage or storm may have damaged that electronic control component.

dryer doesn't heat. Why?

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the igniter is not glowing; the igniter could be broken. You can disconnect the igniter and test it for Ohm resistance with an Ohm meter. If the glow bar igniter is Okay, then I suspect it could have one of the following failures:

  1. Faulty thermal fuse
  2. Fautly thermal cut-off
  3. Faulty high limit thermostat
  4. Faulty electronic control board
  5. Fault motor centrifugal switch
  6. Flame sensor

The igniter must have 120 volts applied to or it will not glow.

When the control board closes the heater relay, it provides voltage to the igniter. There are several components connected in a series circuit between the control board and the igniter that will need to be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter.

I would disconnect and test the thermal fuse first for continuity. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I added an image below and I traced the circuits in red and green. Red represents the line voltage (120) and the green represents the Neutral return line. The igniter needs 120 on one lead and it needs Neutral or it will not glow.

If the thermal fuse and all the other components measure continuity and the igniter will not glow, I suspect it could have a faulty electronic control.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

i've got a riding lawnmower 917289101 that won't start. When I turn the key, it sounds like the starter doesn't engage with the engine and just spins. 917289101

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the starter. I will be happy to assist you. If you just replaced the battery, I recommend checking the battery connection. If it is connected backwards, the starter will run backwards. If the battery is fine, the problem is in the starter drive. I recommend accessing the starter gear and move it by hand. Once you verify it will move on the helix, try to start the engine. If the engine starts, the problem was the gear was stuck down. If it still will not engage I recommend replacing the starter drive. I found a video that shows how to replace the drive on the starter. Click here  to watch the video. If you need to order the drive, you can do so from the following link. Replacement parts for Craftsman tractor model 917289101. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.  Thank you for using Manage My Life! Mark T.
