Q:

I bought a Maytag front loading washing machine on 11/06/10. Its a 2000 series and it sounds like an airplane when its in the spin cycle.

A:

Hi Vicki,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

I looked at your previous question and I agree with Joey. This is most likely an issue with the bearings. And, as Joey stated, we cannot look at specific information for your washer without the model number. The model number should be located inside the loading door or on the back panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

my washer won't spin out the water; how do we get to the guts of the machine? is it belt or something else?

A:

Thank you for your question.

If the belt is broken, the washer would not agitate either. I have provided you with the instructions below showing how to remove the front panel. First, unplug the unit from the wall. Then remove the front panel. The belt should be on the motor and the gear case pulley. The idler pulley is spring loaded and should put tension on the belt. If you find the belt is correctly routed carefully, plug the washer in and start a spin cycle. Watch the belt and make sure it is turning. If the belt is turning I suspect there is a gear case problem.

If you need further assistance, please add more details below.
