Question and Answers

electrolux plhv42p8cc lights on one side have quit working. plhv42p8cc

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on the model and wiring diagram, this unit has two "reactors"; one reactor powers up one side of the lights and the other reactor powers up the other side.

The reactor/transformer needs a 120VAC power supply input. You can check the power supply to the the reactor by measuring for 120VAC across the two black wires with a voltage meter. If 120VAC is measured, the reactor is faulty and will need to be replaced. I added an image below of the wiring diagram to reference.

The reactor/transformer for vent hood model PLHV42P8CC is part #5304435068 which can be ordered from

Note: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your vent hood.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
