Question and Answers

Q:

GE Dishwasher PDW8200N00WW won't start after replacing door spring

A:

The wiring diagram for that dishwasher is shown in the first image below. Your details seem to indicate that the buttons on the right side of the start button will work. If those buttons work then you could have a wiring connection problem between that control panel and the electronic control board or you could have a bad control panel. There is a chance that you have a bad electronic control board as well. I recommend that you shut off that house circuit breaker for the dishwasher and check the wiring connections on that control panel again. Also check the wiring connection for the door switch harness on the J2 plug (pins 10 and 11) of the electronic control board. If all of those wiring connections are okay, I recommend that you check that ribbon wire cable for damage. Check the contacts on the end of that ribbon cable and on the control board for corrosion. If you find no problems, then you may need to replace that control panel. That is an expensive part. Here is a direct link for that component: Control Panel for GE Dishwasher PDW8200N00W . There is a chance that you may also need to replace that electronic control board. I did not find any further testing to check the door switch, control panel and electronic control board on this model. There is a diagnostic test mode but the Cookware button needs to be working to start that function. I added the information on the diagnostic test mode in the second image. That may help you if you can get that Cookware button to work.

Replacing components on this dishwasher is a risk. I recommend that you consider having a service technician examine it and complete this repair. You can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
